SOME GOOD NEWS

The first bit of positive news is that I've now joined the blackberry phenomenon so I can access my blogger anytime, anywhere!...

But more importantly, tomorrow I start a full time assistant teaching job at a large secondary school, teaching english and PE! Another significant step up the ladder! All those hours of having my head stuck in applications has finally paid off! :)

  3. Thanks Danielle.

Abbi, yes they didnt mind as for now its only a teaching assistant job but I think what swayed them in the interview was the dance side which I can offer. Its been a really good experience so far, as I have not only being assisting with various sporting actvities in PE, but also leading dance classes to all ages of pupils in PE lessons and also after school classes. I chose to team the PE/Dance side with English so that I had experience in a more academic subject also and next week will be taking small groups and one to one sessions of under achieving pupils out of classes to teach, myself. Luckily for me its a highly funded school which provides excellent training opportunities and support to aspiring teachers. Hopefully, upon completion of my degree, the school will keep on for a GTP (Graduate Teacher Programme). My advice is to look for teaching assistant jobs in various schools. The job I actually applied for was a maternity cover position in the special needs department. I didnt actually get this position but because they thought I had a lot to offer, they actually created another position for me and catered that to my needs.
    Good luck!
